Hi & welcome to Strudel & Cream. I am Alexandra and this is my creative, little space for photography, food and travel – if possible as a combination of the three.

I was born and raised in Vienna, Austria, the city of Wiener Schnitzel, coffee houses and Sachertorte, but I have been living in Zurich, Switzerland – the country of Raclette, Fondue and Müesli – for almost 10 years.

I am a long time photo-addict. Cameras have been my dear companion when traveling ever since my 7th birthday (and quite a few years have passed since then). I started food photography as part of my 365 days project in 2011/12 and have been hooked ever since. I started Strudel & Cream as  a result of this in spring 2012.

I love to bake and make sweets (more than I like eating them). As a child I actually had an agreement with my mother that if I baked she would clean the kitchen afterwards (which was a pretty good deal, I think). On the savoury side, I am not a huge fan of red meat, which means that you will find mostly vegetarian or chicken and fish recipes here on this blog… And I love to travel and therefore try to spend my vacations as much as possible on the road.
