In Winter I drink green or herbal teas by the potful. In Summer homemade ice tea or pure water become my favourite beverages. As long as it is cool, refreshing and not sweet.
It does not take much to jazz up water: a handful of berries (or other fruits), some herbs, ice cubes and water. Mix everything together, let infuse and there is your flavoured water.
These beverages are super refreshing on hot days, ideal for garden parties, barbecue dinner or simply as a fruity light refresher in between.

Ingredients (for about 1 liter of flavoured water):
Handful of strawberries (about 5 pieces)
Handful of basil leaves
Ice cubes
Drinking water
Water pitcher with 1 liter capacity
Preparation:
1) Wash strawberries and basil. Cut strawberries in slices. Rub basil leaves between fingers. Put strawberries and basil into the water pitcher.
2) Cover with ice cubes and fill up with water. Stir (e.g. with the handle of a wooden spoon). Refrigerate for one hour for the flavours to develop a bit more. Stir before serving & enjoy.

Ingredients (for about 1 liter of flavoured water):
1 organic lime
Handful of raspberries
1-2 twigs of rosemary
Ice cubes
Drinking water
Water pitcher with 1 liter capacity
Preparation:
1) Wash lime with warm water. Cut in slices. Wash raspberries and rosemary. Put raspberries into the pitcher. Press lightly with a muddler to release some juices from the berries (without pulverising the fruit to pieces). Squeeze a bit of juice from the lime slices into the pitcher (again without pulverising the fruit to pieces). Add lime slices and rosemary twigs to the pitcher.
2) Cover with ice cubes and fill up with water. Stir (e.g. with the handle of a wooden spoon). Refrigerate for one hour for the flavours to develop a bit more. Stir before serving & enjoy.
